A travel route connecting many encounters (with people, nature, impression)
Manza Highway is a road along which you can feel different beautiful views of the “Joshin’etsukogen National Park” in each of the four seasons. Drive down Onioshi Highway through National Route 144 to Manza Onsen, and you will reach a mountain road leading to an altitude of 1,800 meters.
“Joshin’etsukogen National Park” is an enormous park comprising highlands and mountains, including Mt. Tanigawa (1,977 m above sea level), Mt. Naeba (2,145 m above sea level), Mt. Kusatsu-Shirane (2,160 m above sea level), Mt. Azumaya (2,354 m above sea level), and Mt. Asama (2,568 m above sea level). ※Click here for the highlights of Joshin’etsukogen National Park
Drive up windings and the Tsumagoi Highland while looking Mt. Asama behind, and you will get to Manza Onsen, the end of the Manza Highway. The smell of sulfur and milky-white hot spring will relieve the weariness of your journey. In winter, although there are days when the weather is quite chilly as a mountain road, a hot spring unique to Manza Onsen and powder snow await you here.
