Moiwa was designated as the first Natural Monument of Hokkaido on March 3, 1921. Since then, renowned scholars in botany and entomology have been born from Mt. Moiwa, which as a place for familiar research. Besides, the mountain has played a role as a place for “relaxation” and “learning” for people in Sapporo. In pursuit of the coexistence with nature-friendly tourism, nature learning pathways are available in Mt. Moiwa based on the idea that wants to make it an ideal place to share with children the importance of nature through contact with nature. Mt. Moiwa can be visited on excursion trips, field trips, or school trips.
